The debate is over. Game of Zones has decided who is the greatest NBA player of all time. And it was none other than Kyrie Irving who helped the “knights” and “mediadel” come to an agreement.
But the Brooklyn Nets point guard had to help repair what he’d torn down before anyone could continue the GOAT conversation. After destroying the “mediadel” with Kevin Durant and other talented “knights” who’d been snubbed previously, Irving’s band saw the error in their ways and blamed the Nets guard for everything — leading to his sentence to the dungeon.
After he was scolded by LeBron James, Irving met former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie, who had clearly been locked away for years. That conversation helped lead to Irving’s change of heart and his efforts to help rebuild the “mediadel.”
Soon after, Irving proposed the league look past James, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Russell as GOAT candidates and instead consider a dark horse candidate: Paul Pierce.
