NCAA allows voluntary team activities in Division I football and basketball to resume.

On Wednesday, the NCAA Division I Council voted to allow football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball student-athletes to resume voluntary on-campus workouts.

Voluntary on-campus workouts for student-athletes may begin June 1, a person familiar with the outcome said.

The person requested anonymity because an official announcement had not been made yet.

Tennessee’s spring football practices along with the Vols’ men’s and women’s basketball seasons ended prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic in March.
