In this corner, we have Michael Thomas, one of the NFL’s best and most consistent wide receivers for the New Orleans Saints.
In the other, there’s DeVante Parker, the 2015 first-round pick for the Miami Dolphins who hadn’t lived up to the hype until last season, when he totaled 72 receptions, 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns.
And here’s the bout they had on Monday: an NFL on FOX Instagram post asked if it was tougher to make a catch while Stephon Gilmore guarded you or break up a pass while guarding Thomas. Parker answered the former, which apparently insulted Thomas.
“For you, yes,” Thomas wrote. “Go run some numbers up. Then you can talk. I lapped you and you been in the league longer than me first rounder.”
Parker went right back: “Got some hard feelings there brotha??? Let me get targeted 300 times a game.”
WOW. It was on from there.

The fact that this happened in the first place is kind of silly. Parker only knows what it’s like to face Gilmore, and the fact that Thomas is taking Parker’s answer as a slight to him is funny. Thomas should be just fine with the fact that he’s one of the best wideouts in all of football.
But hey, it made for quite a public show.
