Finding ways to improve your craft in the midst of a global pandemic is undoubtedly challenging for just about anyone — even professional athletes. As teams look to find the right balance of virtual workouts and monitoring player workouts over the course of the summer, some players are looking to get out of the house as some states open back up their public facilities.
Include a trio of Miami Dolphins offensive linemen among the NFL players headed to Arizona in order to work on their craft with their agent, Joe Panos of Athletes First.
The entire group, which was spotlighted by Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer in this week’s Monday Morning Quarterback column, is comprised of a slew of Panos’ agents across numerous NFL teams, all NFL offensive linemen:
Miami Dolphins: Michael Deiter, Robert Hunt, and Austin Jackson
New England Patriots: Hjalte Froholdt
Dallas Cowboys: Tyler Biadasz
Baltimore Ravens: Ben Bredeson
Detroit Lions: Beau Benzschawel
Panos has collected his clients, nearly half of which are Miami Dolphins’ offensive linemen, in North Scottsdale, Arizona to work on technical skills and workouts in the lead up to the 2020 season. Getting players up to speed at any position is difficult ahead of the season, but offensive line play is often challenged by a lack of chemistry due to the specificity of all of the simultaneous moving parts on any given play. And while Panos can’t help the Dolphins’ rookie tackles and Deiter with their plays in the playbook, the trio will at least be spending quality time around one another and getting better at their fundamentals.
That way, whenever training camp does open, the Dolphins will see three potential starters ready to apply those fundamentals into the specifics of the Dolphins’ playbook — and hopefully show off some newly found chemistry along the way as well.
