[autotag]Lorenz Larkin[/autotag] is not the type to sit around and wait.
The former Bellator welterweight title challenger is not willing to wait for champion Douglas Lima to drop back down to defend his 170-pound title and get the belt circulating once again in the weight class. Instead, Larkin (22-7 MMA, 4-2 BMMA) wants to get in another fight as he wait for Lima to meet Gegard Mousasi for the vacant Bellator middleweight title.
“In my head I was going to fight again and then fight him (Douglas Lima),” Lima told MMA Junkie Radio. “I didn’t want to wait this whole time and have them fight, then wait, do a camp, and then fight him. So yeah, I was already planning on fighting and then fight for the belt.”
Lima was supposed to fight Mousasi for the vacant title at 185 pounds at Bellator 242 on May 9 in hopes of becoming the third ever Bellator two-division champion. However, the event was scrapped due to coronavirus concerns.
The promotion has yet to announce when they will resume the fight schedule.

Bellator president Scott Coker has shown interest in a fight between Larkin and Michael Page to determine the next contender for Lima at 170 pounds.
Larkin, who’s currently on a four-fight winning streak, doesn’t want to call anyone out, but says he’s open to fighting Page.
“Anybody at the top tier, man. If you’re a top tier guy, then that’s the fight that should happen.”
When asked about his willingness to take another fight and not campaign or wait out for Lima to drop back down to 170 pounds, Larkin said he’s best when busy.
“Everybody always thinks about losing, but I have more of a mind frame of I’ll get back,” Larkin said. “Off of my last title fight, I put my head down, worked, and got back to talks about (fighting for the title).
“So that’s how my mind frame works. Whatever happens, if it happens on the bad end of it, I can always get back. So I never really think about the chances of should I just wait and this and that. I rather just fight. Me, I’m more dangerous the more I fight.”
