Kevin Durant used an Instagram comment to jab back at Warriors GM

Kevin Durant wouldn’t let the Warriors GM’s comments slide.

Kevin Durant wasn’t going to let Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers get away with a slight.

In an interview with ESPN, Myers suggested the Warriors’ run in the 2017-18 season, which culminated in a championship, didn’t quite feel as special as the others. At that point, Golden State won their second NBA Finals with Durant and their third in four years.

“The second time with Kevin [in 2018] it felt like, ‘Well, we just did what we were supposed to do, and great job,’” Myers told ESPN. “It wasn’t joy.”

Durant doesn’t seem to agree.

After seeing the quote on Instagram this weekend, Durant responded with a barb. The star wrote that the players looked “happy as (expletive)” in the photo from the post, an image of the Warriors squad looking full of … well, joy. Here’s a look at the post from the Sideline Sources instagram account and Durant’s comment, which was edited to remove explicit language.

Durant has a long track record of going after his critics on social media, and the Brooklyn Nets star isn’t (allegedly) afraid to use burner accounts to deliver his burns. It’s certainly a good source of entertainment. But with Durant looking like he is physically improving from an Achilles injury, I’m also looking forward to when he begins to make headlines on the court, whenever the NBA can safely begin their upcoming season.
