The NFC North will be very interesting in 2020.
The Bears, after winning the division in 2018, fell apart in 2019. However, the team added Nick Foles and still has a menacing defense. The Vikings struggled against the Bears at Chicago in 2019.
Then, there’s the Packers. I think Green Bay is probably the most obvious choice as Minnesota’s toughest opponent, considering the Packers went 13-3 last season. However, the team didn’t seem to get much better through the draft, and now it has added a quarterback who might replace Aaron Rodgers down the road. That could lead to a turbulent locker room.
That said, the Packers front seven gave the Vikings fits in 2019, and Minnesota didn’t improve enough on the offensive line to really change that for next season, in my opinion.
There’s also the Lions, the team that is probably the least obvious choice. But Detroit drafted Jeff Okudah, a shutdown corner from Ohio State. The Lions also picked D’Andre Swift, a running back out of Georgia who could possibly add a different dimension to the offense. The Lions are a team that could surprise people if their defense improves.
So, which team do you think the Vikings will have the toughest time with in 2020?
