The Arizona Cardinals acquired a star receiver in DeAndre Hopkins in a trade with the Houston Texans. According to Pro Football Focus, they acquired one of the top players from last decade. In their list of the top 101 player of the 2010s, Hopkins comes in at No. 30, the highest-ranked Cardinal of the four players to make the list.
He is fourth among receivers, behind only Julio Jones, Antonio Brown and Calvin Johnson.
The things DeAndre Hopkins has been able to do with wretched quarterback play for the majority of his NFL career is scarcely believable. Despite seeing one of the highest percentage of contested targets over his career, Hopkins has dropped just 26 passes on over 1,000 targets. He’s arguably had the second-best hands of the decade after only Larry Fitzgerald, and while he may not have the same speed as some of the other receivers on this list, he has been well able to match them in spite of that.
With Hopkins and Fitzgerald, the Cardinals have two of the seven best receivers from the last decade and two of the top 50 players overall.
Adding him to a receiving corps that includes Fitzgerald a Christian Kirk with quarterback Kyler Murray throwing them the ball, it will be exciting to see how he impacts the offense in 2020.
