After the Broncos’ schedule was announced last week, Alexis Perry of the team’s official website interviewed defensive lineman Shelby Harris and tight end Noah Fant to talk about Denver’s 2020 opponents.
At the 3:39 mark of the interview, Perry asked about traveling to Las Vegas to face the Raiders in their new home for the first time.
“I don’t think it’s going to be the same [in Vegas],” Harris said. “I just don’t see them having much of a hometown appeal. I feel like it’s going to be more like a tourist thing of like, ‘Oh, we’re in Vegas, let’s go to the game.'”
Perry then asked if the Vegas Golden Knights are a good example of how Vegas can support a professional sports team. Harris had a perfect response.
“Yeah, you have to be good, though,” Harris quipped and Fant burst into laughter.
Harris has been on both sides of the rivalry. He played for the Raiders from 2014-2015 before later joining the Broncos in 2017. Over the last three seasons in Denver, Harris has totaled 122 tackles and 13 sacks. Harris has become a fan favorite and his smack talk toward the Raiders will only make him more beloved in Denver.
