The Jets and Dolphins will make weird NFL history thanks to scheduling quirk

Well, this is weird.

The 2020 NFL regular season is out and it starts with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs facing off with Deshaun Watson in the Thursday night season-opener on Sept. 10th, hopefully.

While everyone had fun tonight making fun of the Los Angeles Rams’ goofy new logo after the schedules came out, if you dig deeper into the schedules you’ll see something weird – the Jets and Dolphins will play each other in back-to-back games in November.

Strange, right?

The Jets will play the Dolphins in Miami in Week 10, then both teams have a bye in Week 11 before playing each other again in Week 12 at MetLife Stadium.

This will be the first time since 1991 that teams have played against each other in back-to-back games.
