The 2020 NFL schedule is normally released prior to the NFL Draft, however the coronavirus pandemic led to it being pushed back.
For now, the NFL plans to have its season as planned, although several contingency plans are being discussed in case the coronavirus pandemic worsens between now and the start of the regular season.
Among the contingency plans reportedly being discussed are starting the season in mid-October, having a late-winter Super Bowl, playing in empty stadiums and/or at neutral sites, and not having bye weeks, per the Associated Press.
The NFL is also considering playing games on Saturdays should the college football season be cancelled, according to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand.
Hopefully none of these contingency plans will be necessary and life will return to normal for good.
