The Cincinnati Bengals shouldn’t have any problems keeping a handful of players in the upper echelons of fantasy football scorers in 2020.
Besides Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon and potentially A.J. Green, the Bengals could see notable early fantasy football returns from rookies Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins.
Which makes for an interesting question — where should Bengals rookies rank in keeper and dynasty leagues?
Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling just looked at such a question and ranked Burrow No. 13 and Higgins No. 17.
Both slottings make sense in a fantasy football space. Quarterbacks just aren’t as important as real life in standard fantasy settings. Burrow’s got a real shot to be a special player, especially with the weapons around him — but not enough to get him going first overall in dynasty drafts.
Higgins is part of that deep arsenal around Burrow. He also has a chance to pan out as something special given he’s learning from the guy he models his game after, A.J. Green. But Higgins trying to get targets on an offense featuring Green, Boyd, Mixon, John Ross and others means fantasy owners might not see notable returns on the investment for a few years.
Over the long term? Both guys are pretty safe bets. A future-minded fantasy owner nabbing them in the top 20 could do a lot worse.
