Titans’ Ryan Tannehill and A.J. Brown ranked as top 10 QB-WR combo

Ryan Tannehill and A.J. Brown were quite the pair in 2019.

The Tennessee Titans got off to a slow start last season but were able to right the ship and come up just one game short of representing the AFC in Super Bowl LIV.

Much of that had to do with Ryan Tannehill being named starting quarterback in Week 7 and the chemistry he developed with rookie wide receiver A.J. Brown.

That level of sync was good enough to land the pair at No. 8 on NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt’s list of top 10 quarterback and wide receiver pairings.

That landed them directly behind the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, and just ahead of the Detroit Lions’ Matthew Stafford and Kenny Golladay.

Drew Brees and Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints were rated as the top duo by Brandt.

“Brown led all 2019 rookies in receiving yards (1,051) as the main big-play target for the Titans when opposing defenses got sucked into play-action fakes to running back Derrick Henry,” he wrote. “With Tannehill and Henry returning for 2020, that success should be repeatable.”

The Titans will look to build upon their success and see more magic from both Tannehill and Brown when the 2020 season kicks off later this year.
