Though the Raiders have yet to officially announce the addition of any undrafted rookies, Thursday they brought back a familiar face, re-signing wide receiver De’Mornay Pierson El.

This is the fourth time in just over a year the team has signed Pierson El. They initially signed him in April of last year following 8 games with the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football (AAF).

The 5-8, 195-pound receiver caught 36 passes for 414 yards and one touchdowns in the short-lived AAF. Prior to that he had been an undrafted free agent signing in Washington and also spent time in the CFL.

After his signing with the Raiders early in April, he was released upon the team adding several undrafted rookies. This year he is being added along with those rookie. Pierson El was brought back by the team just ahead of training camp and with 9 catches for 70 yards and 15 punt returns in the preseason, he was among those waived in the roster cutdown on August 31.

On December 4, he was signed back to the practice squad, but was not among those the team re-signed to reserve/future contracts. He made it back eventually just the same.
