The entire world is adjusting to a new normal as we all take the necessary precautions to protect ourselves from the novel coronavirus. As the NBA tries to resume operations, they initially announced that they would allow teams to re-open their training facilities on May 1. That is now changing,
After some push back by some teams, specifically the Atlanta Hawks, the NBA is now pushing the date back on re-opening the training facilities to a week later on May 8. There will also be some restrictions to the re-opening such as no more than four players will be allowed in the facility and they must be wearing face masks unless when they are working out.
Sources: When NBA’s facilities open as soon as May 8, players must wear facemasks at all times, except when in physical activity; staffers working with players must wear gloves; physical distancing of at least 12 feet.

Also, in an effort to try and keep things safe and sanitary for their players and staff, the NBA is asking each team to assign one senior executive to a position called the Facility Hygiene Officer.

Whatever the case is to re-open these facilities, this is a solid step moving forward. With states beginning to loosen their stay at home orders, the players will undoubtedly want to get some work in. The league has said that they will not allow players to train at any public gyms and that their work must be done at their team’s facility.
Teams were also informed today that players are not allowed to use any practice/training facility for workouts other than his NBA team. https://t.co/AKaXnfmJoe
