Tennessee’s momentum on the recruiting trail continued on Monday, when 2021 4-star cornerback Kamar Wilcoxson posted a video on his Twitter account announcing his commitment to the Vols.

Wilcoxson’s pledge to the Vols comes just one day after Tennessee secured a commitment from 5-star Alabama defensive end Dylan Brooks. Both prospects have Tennessee defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley as their primary recruiter.
Wilcoxson is a former Florida commit, having committed to the Gators two different times throughout his recruitment.
“I grew up a Florida fan, so that was my dream school,” said Wilcoxson in his video. “They offered me, I’m thinking I wanted to go there, kind of young, made a decision without thinking through it, actually two of them.
“So then I sat down and actually thought about it and I’m like, ‘I need to step back and weigh my options, and make sure I’m making the best decision for me.”
Wilcoxson is the No. 14 safety in the 2021 recruiting class, and No. 39 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite. Tennessee is getting a versatile defensive back who has experience at both cornerback and safety, but Wilcoxson made it clear he is committing to Tennessee for the opportunity to play cornerback.
