Vikings draft G Blake Brandel in 6th round

Brandel was a four-year starter for the Beavers and actually played tackle in his later college years, although it’s expected he’ll switch to guard in the NFL.

The Vikings added more depth to their offensive line on Saturday, drafting Oregon State guard Blake Brandel with the 205th overall pick.

Brandel was a four-year starter for the Beavers and actually played tackle in his later college years, although it’s expected he’ll switch to guard in the NFL.

This is the second offensive lineman the Vikings have taken thus far in the draft. In the second round, the team drafted Boise State tackle Ezra Cleveland.

Like any sixth-round pick, Brandel will need to make the team first, but should have a good opportunity on what has been a disappointing offensive line over the years.
