Texans draft OT Charlie Heck 126th in Round 4 of 2020 NFL Draft

The Houston Texans drafted North Carolina OT Charlie Heck in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Houston Texans have drafted an offensive tackle.

The Texans traded with the Los Angeles Rams to move up to 126th overall in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft to select offensive tackle Charlie Heck from North Carolina.

Heck’s father is the offensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, but the younger Heck would be happy to end up wherever to start his NFL career.

“I’d be thrilled,” Heck said on the prospect of being drafted the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February. “I’m going to be happy wherever I end up. There would be something special about playing for my dad at some point down the road.”

However, the road begins in Houston where the Texans have quality starters at left tackle in Pro Bowler Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard manning right tackle.

The Rams now have the Texans’ 136th overall pick in the fourth round and their 248th and 250th picks in the seventh round. Houston still has 171st in the fifth round and 240th overall in the seventh round remaining.
