With the #49ers trade done, LT Trent Williams tells me, "I’m thankful this is over. Thanks to Dan and the organization for all they’ve done for me. Still a lot of love for the fans and that locker room. Now I’m focusing on being the best player I can possibly be for the 49ers."

I think we can all agree with former Washington Redskins LT Trent Williams here. We’re all happy this is over.
The Redskins traded Williams to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday right before Day 3 of the NFL Draft got underway, causing a bomb to go off on Redskins social media networks as the team prepared to make their fourth-round pick, where they selected LSU OT Saahdiq Charles, who will likely replace Trent.
Washington received a 5th-round pick in this years’ draft, as well as a 3rd-round pick in the 2021 draft.
It has been a whirlwind of news for the Redskins and Trent Williams over the past 48 hours, with trade speculation running rampant and reports being denied. In the end, Washington found a new home for Williams, and they got a little bit of draft capital in return, though it’s definitely not what they could have gotten if Trent was traded a year ago. Thank Bruce Allen for that one.
With this saga now in the rearview, we can all take a deep breath and focus on the draft. Trent Williams is gone, and we can all move on.
