The Houston Texans drafted former Florida Gators OLB Jonathan Greenard in Round 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Houston Texans have addressed their pass rush.

The AFC South champions selected former Florida Gators outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard in Round 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft Friday evening.

Greenard was a player the Texans showed considerably interest in throughout the draft process, including a formal visit at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February.

The former Gator has a bevy of pass rush moves he used at Florida, and he looks forward to bringing them to the next level.

“I love to showcase,” Greenard said at the combine. “I’ve got a really good get off that kind of threatens the tackles to get them to open their hips more so I can get my counter, inside moves. Overall I just kind of like to keep them on their toes. I like to get my feet moving, get their feet moving, because I’m a better athlete than them and I can use that to my advantage.

But, yeah, I can kind of switch it up, I mean I can give them power a little bit so it just depends on however I’m feeling or however I studied that tackle going into that week’s game.”

The Texans are done with day two of the draft. Houston has a fourth-rounder, a fifth-rounder, and three seventh-round choices on Saturday, the final day of the draft.
