With the #Vikings using the No. 58 pick on Boise State OL Ezra Cleveland, a trade for #Redskins LT Trent Williams is now off the table, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
Minnesota had extensive discussions with Washington, which never pulled the trigger on a deal.

The Minnesota Vikings are officially out on Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams.
After months of trade talks, the Vikings decided to change course in the 2020 NFL Draft, selecting Boise State OT Ezra Cleveland with the 58th overall pick, filling their need for an LT. Now, with the Vikings no longer in the running for Trent, there are slim pickings for the Redskins on the trade market.
A rumor popped up just before the 2nd round started that said the San Francisco 49ers may be interested in trading for Williams, but that was the first anyone heard of it, and it’s hard to think there’s much substance there until we hear more. It’s been a tough 24 hours for Trent Williams, and the future is anything but clear at the moment.
