AFC North roundup: Tracking what the Browns division foes did in the 1st round

The Browns weren’t the only AFC North team trying to improve itself in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Cleveland tabbed Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills at No. 10 overall. Here’s what the rest of the division did in the first round.

Cincinnati Bengals

As had been expected for months, the Bengals selected LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick. There was no drama. Cincinnati rebuffed several trade offers and snagged their man, the Heisman Trophy-winning leader of the national champions.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore stood pat at No. 28 overall and upgraded the defense with another LSU player. Linebacker Patrick Queen figures to start immediately in the middle of the Ravens’ LB corps. Queen was a player some in Cleveland hoped would fall to the Browns at No. 41 overall, but the Ravens snatched up the speedy 229-pound backer.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers didn’t have a pick. They traded it to Miami during the season for defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick. The Dolphins used the pick, No. 18 overall, on USC offensive tackle Austin Jackson. The Steelers will have their first pick at No. 49 overall on Friday night.
