Best RBs available for the Dolphins entering Day 2 of 2020 draft

The Miami Dolphins’ have successfully wrapped up the first day of their marathon of the 2020 NFL Draft. Miami secured three new talents for their 2020 roster and team rebuild last night, providing plenty of excitement with their commitment to standing firm on the No. 5 overall pick to target their quarterback of the future in Tua Tagovailoa.

With the draft’s second day comes another set of challenges and a chance to reset the deck. Miami has invested heavily into rebuilding their offensive line and, by extension, the running game. Miami’s offensive line will have at least three new starters on it in 2020 — plus a new back in the backfield with young veteran Jordan Howard. Howard signed a two-year deal with the Dolphins and shouldn’t be expected to tote the rock all by himself, however.

So who might be a running back the Dolphins look to here on the 2020 draft’s second day? There’s plenty left — only one running back came off the board in the first 32 selections. Here are the best available running backs entering Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

RB JK Dobbins, Ohio State

RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

RB D’Andre Swift, Georgia

RB Cam Akers, Florida State

With the Dolphins owning picks again early with No. 39 and No. 56 overall in the queue, seeing a running back come off the board to the Dolphins should be an expectation. The only question is which one it will be. Will the Dolphins start the run by grabbing one early? Or will they let the rest of the league thin the herd a bit more before making a move and securing their long-term pairing with Tua Tagovailoa in Miami’s new-look offense?

Tonight’s second round of selections kicks off at 7 PM EST.
