The Dallas Cowboys went into the 2020 NFL Draft with plenty of directions the team could have went in at pick No. 17. The assumed first few picks came and went with Joe Burrow headed to Cincinnati, Chase Young being drafted by the Washington Redskins, and Jeffrey Okudah going to the Detroit Lions.
What Dallas didn’t see coming was that a premier wide receiver would fall right into their laps as they went on the clock. The Cowboys made a big offensive splash by taking Oklahoma stud wide receiver Cee Dee Lamb despite reports that the team was focused on defense.
On Day 2 the Cowboys have picks 51 and 82 to address their defensive needs if they choose.
Secondary help could be on the way in rounds two and three. Big names still remain on the board like safeties Xavier McKinney, Grant Delpit and Antoine Winfield, Jr. Cornerbacks Kristian Fulton and Trevon Diggs are also options. as are edge rushers A.J. Epenesa, Yetur Gross-Matos and Zack Baun.
There are plenty of options left for Dallas to explore. The splash has been made on offense in the first round with plenty of time and picks to address some of the Cowboys needs in 2020.
