The New England Patriots now have the second-most picks in the 2020 NFL Draft with 13 total.
New England traded its No. 23 overall pick to the Los Angeles Chargers for a second-round (No. 37) and second-round pick (No. 71). By making the trade, the Patriots closed the gap between their first and second pick (23 and 87). They came into the draft with 12 total picks and left Day 1 with 13 available slots. The team has afford itself with tremendous flexibility heading into day two and day three of this deep draft. And they won’t have to wait long before getting on the board. There should be no shortage of good players available at 37th overall.
