For months, Cincinnati Bengals fans were tired of the talk.

Tired of the speculation that Joe Burrow could be persuaded to play somewhere else. Tired of the speculation that the Bengals might up and trade the 2020 draft’s top pick for what would have admittedly been a historic return.

More than anything else, Bengals fans were probably just tired of waiting. A supposed “New Dey” with Zac Taylor had fallen flat, but the compensation for such a disaster was sitting first with a chance to get one of the truly can’t-miss quarterback prospects.

And after finally getting drafted by the Bengals Thursday night, that can’t miss quarterback sent out a brief message aimed at Bengals fans — and anyone else who had weighed in on the process:
