The New England Patriots are scheduled to pick 23rd overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. And while we know the order of the draft, we don’t know when, exactly, they will pick. But we can piece together an approximation.
The draft will began at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network, but the Cincinnati Bengals, who pick first overall, won’t actually go on the clock until 8:19 p.m. Our friend Nick Schwartz at For The Win did some guesswork to project the timing of every pick past Cincy. With that in mind, it appears Belichick and the Patriots will make their selection at roughly 11:00 p.m.
But be sure to keep an eye on the TV or on your smartphone. That time could be variable if there are a number of trades. And to complicate things, the Patriots could trade up the board to make their pick. Or, they could find that they want to move down the draft board, picking later in the night — or, if they move back into the second round, they’ll pick on Friday evening when the draft resumes at 7 p.m.
We’ll keep you posted on all the action here on Patriots Wire, with the latest news and analysis on this year’s draft.
