Vikings land CB, WR and DT in The Ringer’s final mock draft

This is the type of draft that should make Vikings’ fans happy.

The day is here my friends. The 2020 NFL Draft kicks off in a matter of hours.

If you’re like me, you look all over the internet for hints on who your team (the Vikings) will pick. With picks 22 and 25, that’s nearly impossible to guess. But we guess regardless!

Danny Kelly (who does killer work) over at The Ringer posted his final two-round mock draft.

He nails it for the Vikings, picking three solid players at three positions of need.

With the 22nd pick (acquired from the Bills), Kelly has the Vikings drafting Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson.

With the 25th pick, the Vikings draft Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims.

And with the 58th pick, the Vikings draft Auburn defensive tackle Marlon Davidson.

A few notes on each player:

  • Johnson is rising in drafts and getting him at 22 or 25 seems realistic for the Vikings and fills a huge need.
  • I like Justin Jefferson a little more than I like Mims. In Kelly’s mock, he has Jefferson falling all the way to No. 30 to the Packers.
  • The Vikings signed Michael Pierce, but there’s plenty to be desired with how Shamar Stephen played last season. Getting him in the second round seems like a steal.
