The Cincinnati Bengals are shutting down teams that reach out ahead of the 2020 NFL draft as they get ready to take Joe Burrow.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter during an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, the Bengals aren’t playing ball: “They have told everyone thank you very much, but we’re going to take [Joe Burrow].”

Jeremy Rauch of Fox 19 confirmed.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise a day out before the draft. The Bengals maxed their allotted time with Burrow while working with him on the offense.

A prior report had said the Bengals weren’t budging despite attempts from the Miami Dolphins to trade up to No. 1.

Given the need at quarterback, Burrow’s amazing resume and the added bonus that is his homecoming to potentially save a struggling offense, no team was probably going to be able to put together a package that would move the Bengals off the first pick.
