Lamar Jackson broke some news about himself on Tuesday during a Zoom call with reporters: he said he’s going to be the cover athlete for Madden 21.
And, he added, he doesn’t fear the so-called Madden curse, because of what Patrick Mahomes did last year after the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback appeared on Madden 20 and proceeded to come back from injury and win a Super Bowl.
As I’ve noted before, Tom Brady laughed in the face of the curse and ended up winning a Super Bowl the year after his cover appearance. So Jackson is right (for those of you who believe in curses).

There really couldn’t be a better choice here after the season he had in 2019. He won MVP after throwing 36 touchdown passes an ran for seven more while accumulating 1,206 rushing yards and 3,127 more through the air.
