FARRAGUT — Former University of Tennessee punter Joe Doyle has received a scholarship offer from San Diego State.
Doyle, a 2017 graduate of Farragut High School, announced on Monday that he has received an offer from the Aztecs.
Doyle redshirted at UT after being recruited by former head coach Butch Jones.
In 2018, he was named a freshman All-American by USA Today.
He entered the 2019 campaign as the starting punter for the Volunteers but lost the starting job to Paxton Brooks.
During his time at Tennessee, Doyle was on the final candidates list for the Ray Guy Award and was a member of the Southeastern Conference Fall Honor Roll.
San Diego State is coached by former Tennessee assistant and interim head coach Brady Hoke.
