The guy who really established himself as part of the future last season was Devonte’ Graham. It remains to be seen whether that future is as a starter or as a high-level third guard/sixth man, but Graham’s explosion from the 3-point line last season might have been the season’s most unexpected surprise. He already was a talented passer, so now the threat of his bombs opens up more space for him to dish. That said, Graham’s other limitations likely put a cap on where he can go from here. He’s not particularly dynamic on the ball and struggles to finish against size. He’s also just OK — and perhaps even that is being generous — on the defensive end. Positionally, it’s less than ideal to pair him and Rozier long term given that each is on the small side for a point guard, let alone for the 2. Nonetheless, Graham has to be part of the puzzle here somewhere.
