When the Baltimore Ravens selected quarterback Lamar Jackson with the final pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, we got some great viral clips to go with it. From Jackson saying Baltimore was getting a Super Bowl from him to his former Louisville teammate Jaire Alexander emotionally celebrating the pick, draft night was full of excitement.
Jackson reshared that video of Alexander’s celebration on Twitter, which caught the eye of President Donald Trump, who called him a “great pick.” Jackson earned the 2019 NFL MVP last season after breaking all types of franchise and league records and becoming one of the young faces of the league.
Really nice to see this and, what a great pick! https://t.co/91104h0sd1

Jackson had to wait to get his start in the NFL, playing behind Joe Flacco for nine games his rookie season. But once Flacco went down with a hip injury, Jackson got the starting spot and never looked back. Last season, Jackson completed 66.1% of his passes for 3,127 yards and a league-leading 36 touchdown throws, while adding another 1,206 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
While Jackson hasn’t yet made good on his promise to bring another Lombardi Trophy to Baltimore, the Ravens are considered one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LV.
