With the NBA on hiatus and New York continuing its battle against the novel coronavirus outbreak, Brooklyn Nets games will not be played for the foreseeable future.
For the Nets, as much as any team, this comes at an odd time — Brooklyn was battling the Orlando Magic for the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference standings. At the stoppage of play, the Nets had a half-game advantage over the Magic.
Since there aren’t any games, each day Nets Wire will highlight impressive individual performances and major moments throughout Nets history:
On April 7, 2007, Vince Carter and Jason Kidd did something no NBA duo had since 1989. Both of them logged a triple-double in New Jersey’s 120-114 win over the Washington Wizards (full box score).
Carter led the way in his first triple-double in a Nets uniform, finishing with 46 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Kidd scored 10 points and he had 18 assists and 16 boards.
Less than two weeks later — on April 16 — Carter would log his second triple-double of his Nets career, finishing with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in New Jersey’s 104-95 win over the New York Knicks (full box score).
Carter would go on to log one more triple-double over the course of his Nets career (February 3, 2009).
