The Tennessee Titans have some holes to patch ahead of the 2020 season, and could easily find themselves back in postseason contention if they play their cards right.
Tennessee made some smart moves in free agency, securing quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry, with its most notable outside signing being former Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker, Vic Beasley.
The team now looks ahead to the 2020 NFL Draft to continue bolstering the roster before the season rolls around.
But how exactly will they go about doing that starting next Thursday?
Luke Easterling of Draft Wire released his latest projections Saturday. Here’s a look at who he has the Titans taking in all seven rounds of the draft.
29. Jonathan Taylor | RB | Wisconsin
61. Lloyd Cushenberry III | IOL | LSU
93. Jabari Zuniga | EDGE | Florida
174. Malcolm Roach | DL | Texas
224. Tyre Phillips | OT | Mississippi State
237. Levonta Taylor | CB | Florida State
243. Darnell Mooney | WR | Tulane
It’s certainly an interesting order, but could be plausible. Several other analysts have the Titans taking either an offensive lineman or a cornerback in the first round.
But the offense did depend a great deal upon Henry last year, so the Titans need someone to step into the role behind him to take some pressure off. Wisconsin rusher Jonathan Taylor could very well be that guy.
The Titans still address the offensive line early by snagging LSU’s Lloyd Cushenburry III in the second round, pretty closely evening out between offensive and defensive picks after that point.
It will be interesting to see how close Easterling’s projections align with reality when the draft starts on April 23.
