Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing played together on the Knicks for 10 seasons between 1988 and 1998, advancing to the playoffs each year but never quite getting over the hump. And not for the first time, Oakley is blaming the team’s failures on Ewing. “He never put us on his back like he should have because every adversity he ducked away from,” Oakley said Monday during an appearance on CBS Sports Radio. “He gave the same [expletive] answer after every 82 games of the year.”
