While a lot of Tennessee Titans fans like the team’s current uniforms, they haven’t been getting a lot of love in the rankings from some outlets.
In Touchdown Wire’s recent uniform rankings, the Titans didn’t fare so well, coming in at No. 24 on the list.
Now, Sporting News has compiled its own list, and while the Titans did do better than the aforementioned ranking from Touchdown Wire, it still wasn’t anything to write home about.
According to Sporting News’ Tadd Haislop, the Titans’ uniforms rank No. 19 in the NFL, with the biggest negative in Haislop’s mind being the font used for the number.
“These uniforms, introduced in 2018, have grown on us significantly. Kudos to Tennessee for realizing its previous look had become stale.
The white helmets the Titans used prior to 2018 didn’t work with the majority of their uniform sets, so the shift to the navy blue helmets was a good move. The chrome facemasks are great, as is the tapered silver stripe, which is meant to evoke the tip of a sword. Very cool.
The sword factor is why the otherwise strange-looking silver sleeves work so well. The only knock on these uniforms — and it’s significant — is the number font.”
Multiple teams have made adjustments to their uniforms this offseason, with the most recent being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. Both teams have already unveiled their new looks.
The Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns are all expected to make changes or tweaks at some point, also.
The Titans made their most recent uniform change prior to the start of the 2018 season.
