Minnesota RB Dalvin Cook says he wants to be with the Vikings long term

Dalvin Cook told the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson that he would like to be in Minnesota long term. Do you think that’s a good call for the Vikings?

There’s good news for Vikings fans: Dalvin Cook, who considers himself the best running back in the game, is reportedly happy where he is at.

Cook told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press that he definitely loves Minnesota.

“I love everything the state has to bring. Being a kid, I was drafted (in 2017) from Miami (his hometown), so I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, Cook told Tomasson. “I actually am happy where I’m at, and I would like to be in Minnesota long term.”

Cook is still on his rookie contract, but he’s coming off a career year, where he had 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, both of which were career highs.

Cook will likely require a somewhat large contract eventually. However, during the 2019 season, he missed the last two regular season games. To be fair, the last game was against the Bears, where reserves played, so maybe Cook would have been ready to go if there were playoff implications. But injuries have been a concern for Cook in the past, and he will probably garner a lot of money.
