Dez Bryant says Ja Morant reminds him of Sixers legend Allen Iverson

Former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant compares rookie Ja Morant to Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson.

Before the league suspension due to coronavirus on March 11, the young players in the league had captured the attention of NBA fans everywhere. For Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant, his play was at a level where he was the consensus choice for Rookie of the Year.

He has been receiving a lot of comparisons this season due to his explosive athleticism and the continued all-out effort he gives. He has the attention of former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant who gave a ton of praise to Morant on Twitter comparing him to Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson.

Morant is 6-foot-3 and he weighs 175 pounds so he is a guy with a smaller build, but that does not stop him from attacking the basket and getting to the free-throw line at a 4.5 attempts per game clip. That is why the Iverson comparison does make sense.

Morant is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 assists and his play has the Grizzlies currently in the 8 seed. Whenever the season does resume, Memphis would take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Round 1 of the playoffs. [lawrence-related id=29115,29108,29091]
