Boston Celtics veteran guard Marcus Smart is a whirlwind of activity on the court, making winning plays where it didn’t look like there was a play in the first place.
His ability to see the game faster than many of his peers coupled with a near-reckless level of intensity that often sees him flying into the stands or bouncing off the parquet in search of a loose ball has made him a formidable opponent on both ends of the court.
His tendency to guard almost anyone on the court, whether small and quick guards or big and burly frontcourt players is reflected in the Texan’s made-up position for himself — the “stretch six”.
That he’s comfortable coming off the bench as a sixth man may have something to do with that moniker as well, as the Oklahoma State product is perfectly capable of starting at a high level as well.
Watch the video above to see Smart’s high-octane play unleashed on Boston’s opponents in some of the best plays of his 2019-20 s far.
