Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has made a name for himself as one of the best young coaches in the NBA ever since making the leap from Butler and the collegiate ranks in 2013.
With philosophies like never getting too high on oneself — nor too low — and that even-keeled approach having translated to getting the best out of whatever players he has on the roster, he’s become a coach respected by players and opposing teams across the league.
And it’s been his tactical skill as much as his ability to connect with players that have established that reputation, his after timeout (ATO) plays being especially noteworthy, and often mimicked across the league.
This season, he’s unleashed some new ones, and deploys some old standards that still seem to catch opponents unawares; watch the video above to see the best of the best of the former Bulldogs coach’s most effective ATO plays of the 2019-20 NBA season — hopefully so far.
