Washington Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura made his debut in the NBA 2K Players Only Tournament on Sunday night and made quite a splash during his matchup against Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell.
The contest went right down to the final seconds of the fourth quarter before Hachimura emerged with the 74-71 victory. The fourth-seeded Mitchell entered the contest as the favorite to win over Hachimura, the 13th seed in the tournament.
Hachimura had the honor of choosing his team first and decided to play with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers while Mitchell went with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.
During the first half, it was revealed that Hachimura hilariously had a waterboy with him in his apartment that would provide a towel and a bottle of water during each timeout.

Mitchell managed to rally back to take the lead in the third quarter and the two players eventually traded baskets from that point forward. Mitchell had a chance to tie at the buzzer but missed the shot.
The winner will be crowned the ultimate NBA 2K20 champion and select a charity beneficiary to receive a $100,000 donation from 2K, the NBA and the NBPA in support of ongoing coronavirus relief efforts.
Hachimura will play the winner of Devin Booker and Michael Porter Jr. next in the single-elimination quarterfinal round set to take place on Tuesday night.
