In free agency, we saw the Vikings lose cornerbacks Mackensie Alexander, Trae Waynes and Xavier Rhodes to other teams.
The team also traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs when the team was already thin at the wideout position.
That leaves GM Rick Spielman with plenty of work to do as we approach the NFL Draft later on this month.
Jeff Kerr over at CBS Sports has the Vikings addressing both positions in his mock draft.
With the 22nd pick, which the Vikings got in the Diggs trade, Kerr has the Vikings selecting Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs.
There’s no doubting his talent, but it seems unlikely the Vikings would draft the younger brother of the disgruntled receiver who forced his way out of town.
With the 25th pick, the Vikings select LSU receiver Justin Jefferson. This would be a dream for the Vikings. Most mock drafts have Jefferson going before this spot, so if Jefferson were to fall, it’d certainly be good value. Jefferson had 1,540 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns last season.
