Each year, EA Sports releases a new Madden NFL video game. Every player in the game receives a rating, which leads to much fanfare and debate.
Last year, Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller was removed from the perfect “99 overall” club and long snapper Casey Kreiter was among the lowest-rated players in the game. Not cool!
Ratings for this year’s Madden will be announced later this summer.
While fans wait for the new ratings to come out, Bleacher Report put together a list of the all-time best rosters for each NFL team, using Madden ratings to determine the squads.
Among Denver’s highest-rated offensive players are quarterback John Elway (98 overall), running back Terrell Davis (92), tight end Shannon Sharpe (97), center Tom Nalen (96) and left tackle Ryan Clady (91).
On defense, the Broncos’ highest-rated players are defensive end Elvis Dumervil (90), linebacker Tom Jackson (91), outside linebacker Von Miller (97), cornerback Champ Bailey (97), cornerback Chris Harris (91) and safety Steve Atwater (90).
Matt Prater (86) is Denver’s highest-rated kicker and Tom Rouen (80) is the team’s highest-rated punter. To view all of the Broncos’ all-time best Madden players, check out Bleacher Report’s complete list here.
