Bellator free fight: Relive Ryan Bader’s furious finish of Linton Vassell

It’s been awhile since Ryan Bader has fought at light heavyweight, so here’s a look at his most recent defense of the 205-pound Bellator belt.

[autotag]Ryan Bader[/autotag]’s done so well at heavyweight these past couple years, you can almost forget he’s had a long and successful run as a light heavyweight, as well.

But Bader (27-5 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) still, in fact, holds the Bellator light heavyweight championship, in addition to his heavyweight crown.

In case you forgot how “Darth” looked when he competed at light heavyweight, Bellator has made his most recent title fight free for all to watch.

That bout went down at Bellator 186 in November 2017, when Bader showed off his firepower with a second-round TKO of the always tough Linton Vassell.

Monday, Bellator announced the postponement of Bellator 242, which was scheduled for May 9 in San Jose, Calif. Bader was scheduled to make the first defense of his 205-pound title in two-and-a-half years against Vadim Nemkov on the card.

So while the card is on hold for now, pending progress made in the fight against the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, eventually, we’ll see Bader vs. Nemkov.

Until then, you can check out Bader’s handiwork against Vassell, watch the video linked above.
