Bucs coach Bruce Arians makes it clear there wont be a Tom Brady-Antonio Brown reunion

Antonio Brown has said he wants to come back to play with Tom Brady, but Bucs coach Bruce Arians doesn’t want him in the locker room.

Free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown has yet to learn the outcome of an NFL investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and has been involved in numerous off-the-field incidents since being released from the Patriots, but despite the whirlwind of controversy that surrounds him, Brown has maintained that he hopes to return to the league in 2020 – and he’s already indicated where he’d like to play.

Despite only playing a single game during his run in New England, Brown apparently developed a meaningful relationship with quarterback Tom Brady, who has now left New England for Tampa Bay. Brown has stated on social media that he wanted to follow Brady wherever he went, and Brady interestingly responded to a Brown tweet earlier this month with a heart emoji.

If Brown does return in 2020, though, it won’t be with the Buccaneers. During an appearance on the Tiki and Tierney show earlier this week, Arians said that no matter what kind of deal is on the table, he doesn’t believe Brown is a fit for his locker room in Tampa Bay.

Arians: “Yeah, it’s not going to happen. Just, it’s not going to happen. There’s no room, and probably not enough money, but it’s just not going to happen. It’s not a fit here.”

“If he says ‘I’m coming in on the veteran minimum, coach. I just want to play with Tom. You still wouldn’t find a way to get him in?”

Arians: “No…. I just know him, and it’s not a fit in our locker room.”

There’s little doubt that, purely from an on-field production standpoint, Antonio Brown could help nearly every NFL team. But as Arians is fully aware, he might just not be worth the potential headache, no matter how team-friendly the deal is – assuming he’s even cleared to play in 2020 by the NFL.
