The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with tight end Nick Vannett, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Vannett (6-6, 261 pounds) entered the league as a third-round pick out of Ohio State with the Seattle Seahawks in the 2016 NFL draft. After spending the first three years of his career in Seattle, Vannett was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a fifth-round pick last September.
Vannett has been used primarily as a blocking tight end in the NFL. Over the last four years, he has caught 61 passes for 591 yards and four touchdowns. Vannett had a career year with the Seahawks in 2018, catching 29 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games (nine starts).
In Denver, Vannett will join a tight end room that includes Noah Fant, Jeff Heuerman, Andrew Beck, Jake Butt, Troy Fumagalli, Austin Fort and Bug Howard. Vannett will likely compete for the team’s No. 2 TE job.
Entering his fifth season in the league, Vannett is 27 years old.
