Jeff Driskel, we hardly knew ye.
The former Lions backup quarterback has found a new home in Denver. Driskel agreed to sign a two-year contract with the Broncos to become the primary backup to young starter Drew Lock. The Broncos signed Driskel to push Joe Flacco off the roster, getting younger and significantly cheaper at the backup QB spot.
Driskel got the nod for three games in Detroit in 2019 following Matthew Stafford’s back injury. He completed 59 percent of his passes, throwing four TDs and just as many INTs. The Lions lost all three of his starts before Driskel went down with a hamstring injury. He eventually went on injured reserve.
The 27-year-old came to Detroit from Cincinnati after starting his career as a 6th-round pick by the 49ers in 2017.
