Wednesday morning provided yet more proof that the best way to get a coronavirus test in the United States is to be an NBA player. After four players on the Brooklyn Nets tested positive for COVID-19, including two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant, the Los Angeles Lakers squad got tested for the virus on Wednesday morning, according to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
Also on Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump was asked about why NBA players and other celebrities, even while not showing symptoms, could get tested while many other Americans are struggling to get tested even with symptoms.
Asked about asymptomatic NBA players getting tested and whether the wealthy and well-connected are going to the front of the line where others can't, Trump says you'd have to ask them, "but perhaps that's been the story of life."

According to Turner, the Lakers are expected to get their results from the test within 48 hours. The Lakers last played eight days ago on March 10 against the Nets. Although the season resuming seems unlikely right now, both the league’s owners and the players union indicate that they haven’t given up on salvaging the season and still having a 2020 NBA Champion.
