Tony Reali hosted a social-distanced version of ‘Around The Horn’ after Tom Brady news

Well done.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced the sports world to essentially close down as leagues look to limit large gatherings that could spread the virus. It has also had a significant impact on ESPN’s programming.

It was announced on Monday that ESPN’s Around The Horn would be off the air this week, which was an appropriate decision given the move from newsrooms to work remotely.

But there are times when a pandemic can’t even stop the competitive sports banter. This was one of those times.

After Tom Brady announced Tuesday morning that he would not be re-signing with the New England Patriots, Tony Reali got a panel together of Mina Kimes, Sarah Spain and Jackie MacMullan to discuss the huge NFL news … via a video chat from their homes. It was called “Around The Home.”

Such a good idea. Again, social distancing shouldn’t stop us from discussing sports. There are responsible ways to make it happen, and Reali pulled it off perfectly here.

While this segment wasn’t going to air on ESPN, it made for a great Twitter video.

Let’s keep “Around The Home” going as NFL free agency continues.
